This course of study includes Dance, Art, Music, and Theatre for both performers and tech students. These classes meet on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Academic Education Track

This course of study includes History, Language Arts, Math, and Science for high school students. These classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  • History: History is more than kings and conquests—it’s the story of cultures, connections, and everyday lives. This course explores the medieval era from a worldwide and cultural perspective, beginning in Europe before expanding to the Byzantine Empire, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Learn more
  • Language Arts: This class will have a strong emphasis for practicing exercises and assignments that cover grammar, essay writing, and creative writing. This course will also explore the rich and diverse literary traditions of the medieval period, focusing on iconic texts that have shaped our understanding. Learn more
  • Math Lab: This math lab is designed to help students who need to strengthen foundational math skills and gain confidence in problem-solving. Students will be met where they are in their math journey, using an adaptive online program that allows them to work at their own pace. Learn more
  • Science: Through hands-on experiments, case studies, and real-world applications, learners will see how the periodic table is the foundation of chemistry and is essential to advancements in science, industry, and technology. Learn more

Middle School a la Cart

Our middle school students may select from Dance, Art, Music, Theatre, and Academic Support options.

  • Arts: Middle school students will join the high school students for performance classes in the arts disciplines on an a la carte basis. (They will not have the theory and intensive portions of these classes).

  • Academic Support: Our dedicated team of tutors and guidance counselors works alongside families to support students through this important transition—whether you plan to continue homeschooling through high school or move into a traditional school setting. We assist students with online learning keeping parents informed with real-time progress updates, including how much time is spent on coursework, if students seem stuck, and which concepts need extra attention.

Electives

Elective classes are open to students in the Fine Arts Track, the Academic Education Track, and Middle School a la Cart students. If there is available class space, students who are not otherwise enrolled at Hazelwood Prep may be allowed to join a class.

  • Mindfulness Mastery: In a world where overstimulation, social pressure, and silent stressors are part of a teenager’s daily reality, Mindful Mastery offers something rare and essential: a sacred pause. More than a class, this is a guided experience in personal transformation—an intentional space where high school students learn how to master their thoughts, emotions, energy, and influence.   • Our foreign language conversation group meets from 10:15a-11:25a on Tuesday mornings. Current language offerings are Spanish and American Sign Language (ASL) Learn More
  • The Interact Club of Hazelwood Gwinnett meets from 9a-10:10a on Thursday mornings. This service organization is affiliated with the Rotary Club of Lawrenceville and is open to students 12-18 years old.
  • Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurship: This full-year course helps creative teens develop essential adulting skills through the lens of real-world finances and entrepreneurship. This class meets from 10:15a-11:25a on Thursday mornings. Learn more
