Foreign Language Conversation Clubs

American Sign Language (ASL): Basics & Performance

Taught by Tasha Snowden

This conversation club introduces students to the fundamentals of American Sign Language, including the ASL alphabet, vocabulary, grammar, and everyday conversational skills. In addition to building a strong foundation in basic signing, students will also explore the expressive side of ASL through sign performance—interpreting songs, stories, or poems using sign language.

Through interactive lessons, games, and group activities, students will develop both practical communication skills and an appreciation for Deaf culture and the power of visual expression. No prior experience is required—just a willingness to learn and engage with a new language in a creative and meaningful way.

Spanish Conversation Club

Taught by TBD

This relaxed, interactive club is designed for students who are already following a Spanish curriculum at home—or at the very least, actively using a Spanish learning app—and want additional practice speaking the language. Through guided conversations, games, and group activities, students will build confidence, expand their vocabulary, and strengthen their listening and speaking skills.

This is not a formal instruction class, but a supportive space to apply what they’re learning in real-time conversation with peers. Perfect for students who want to make their Spanish studies more engaging, social, and practical.
